Born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia Martin Luther King Jr. was named after his father who was the pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church. When Martin was young, America was far different then today in many ways. For years, United States had laws for segregation. This separation meant that African-Americans could not eat at the same restraunts, use the same water fountains, or even attend to same school with white-Americans. The places set aside were always at low-quality and received less public funding. Many people including Martin felt that this was unfair and unjust.
